Student Sports Reporting Contests

Students will be encouraged to assume the role of a sports reporter and win valuable prizes!
Sample Contests Include:
- Write a game report of a nationally televised game, including headline.
- Write an article on which player was the most outstanding while watching the game on television (or in person).
- Write an opinion piece on your favorite athlete and why.
- Write an article on your favorite sports team you enjoy watching and why.
- Write a retrospective on an historic game from the past.
- Write an enterprise article on how sports have affected the economy of your region.
- Write a human interest piece on how a particular athlete is contributing to the community.
- Write a column addressing a specific aspect of a team of your choice and how it influences American life.
- Write a history of sports in America.
- Write a preview story of an upcoming game of your choice.
